Yesterday I received an email from my fire chief. He had received a message from the City of Charlottesville fire chief and wanted to pass it along to me. While I’m really glad that I’ve started my 29 Days Until 29 journey, part of me wishes that I was home in Charlottesville today so that I could be apart of what’s happening there.
The message was as follows:
To All,
I send this message out as an invitation to all of my friends and colleagues to encourage you to forward this to your friends, families and colleagues and to ask that you personally become involved in this very special and unique event in Charlottesville.
On Wednesday September 8th, the Pink Heals Tour will be stopping in Charlottesville (final details on location TBD). While the Tour originally was not planning to stop in Charlottesville; upon a personal request, Charlottesville’s reputation did the rest and an unscheduled trip to Charlottesville will occur on September 8th around noon.
MORE UPDATED DETAILS WILL BE PLACED ON THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE WEBSITE AS TO LOCATION AT http:///WWW.CHARLOTTESVILLE.ORG
For more information about the Pink Heals Tour, visit http://www.pinkfiretrucks.org/. Basically, this is a non-profit organization that travels around the country with four PINK fire engines and a huge steel ribbon to heighten awareness and raise money for charities that support those that are battling cancer.
Additionally, the pink fire trucks are very special as they provide a very special opportunity to ‘write a personal message’ on the pink fire trucks in memoriam or support of a loved one that has or is facing cancer. Please join the Pink Heals Tour to show how much we care and support our loved ones who are faced with cancer!

If you’re in Charlottesville today PLEASE check out the pink fire trucks and take a picture for me! If you send it to me via email I can get it uploaded to the page!
Was just going to email you the link… You would leave C-ville just in time for the pink fire trucks to show up!
My guess is that your 29Days effort was a big part of the reason they decided to make the side track! Keep up the good work! How was Fenway?
