I hope that everyone had a great weekend!  I realized that I hadn’t done a vlog entry since I started jetting around on Tuesday and I wanted to do a quick weekend recap before heading into week 2!  Thanks again for all of your help and support!

Day 6 – The Pacific Coast

I woke up this morning in LA & I’m writing this post in Monterey!  It was a beautiful Sunday to travel up the Pacific Coast Highway with Curt on our way up to Monterey.  Matt started the day with a VIP quality tour of Venice Beach, Malibu, and Pepperdine (where he works). Continue reading

Day 5 – Los Angeles

After arriving in LA on Saturday morning, I was picked up from LAX by 2 fraternity brothers of mine, Curt and Matt.  Matt lives in LA and Curt came up from San Diego.  We headed to Matt’s place and then started out on the LA tourist tour.  I hadn’t seen Matt in years and had Curt not JUST been to Charlottesville last month it would have been years since I’d seen him as well, so we all had some catching up to do. Day 4 – New York City

Much of today was spent traveling and at JFK airport.  I got into the city around 5pm and immediately went to Ground Zero.  Since I’m heading to LA at 7am, I’m not able to be there on the 11th.  There isn’t much to see other than a construction site, but it still gave me chills.

September 11th created another negative connection that we all share.  I’m not going to talk about cancer connections today, though I made 2 that I may share later.  Today I am simply going to say 4 words and ask that you repeat after me.

We Will Never Forget.

Can You Help?

I know that I’ve said this before, but each day I become more and more amazed at how the 29 Days Until 29 journey is growing and expanding in ways that I NEVER imagined 24 short days ago. I knew the ‘6 degrees of cancer separation’ concept would take things in new directions, but I’ve simply been blown away how far it’s gone! None of this would be possible without you; my friends, family, and total strangers, who have shared their cancer connections with me and told their friends about my journey. Continue reading

Hello Saints, Goodbye Ain’ts

The Saints are no longer known as The Ain’ts, but all of New Orleans remembers the days when they were.  I remember being a kid and listening to my Mammaw complain about how bad their were.  You couldn’t PAY people to go to the game.  Fans wore brown paper bags over their heads so people wouldn’t know who they were and that they were actually at the game.  Hence the picture on the left… Continue reading
