We All Share A Cancer Connection

As you’ll see mentioned numerous places on the site, the goal of 29 Days Until 29 is to replace the negative connections that we all share with cancer with positive ones.  Connections that can make a difference, whether that be thru a donation, a conversation, or a simple hug to let someone know that you’re there for them.  Last night I came across the new Stand Up 2 Cancer video and it does a very good, albeit very scary, job of reminding us all know just how common cancer is.

I’ve embedded the video below for everyone to see, as it serves as yet another reminder to me as to why we need to all team up in this fight.  Every person, every comment, every dollar helps make a difference.

CBS 19 News at 5 – 8/31/10

The press release did it’s job today and 29 Days Until 29 was featured on the CBS 19 evening news!  The folks over at The Newsplex do a great job of covering local events and I really appreciate their help in spreading the word about my journey!

Flight Schedule

If you head on over to the ‘Where Are I Going?’ tab you’ll be able to see a cool video from TripLine.net that links all of my flights together.  Below that you’ll find a simple date/destination list.  Both of which are cool to look at, but don’t really provide much information other than where I’m going to be on certain days.

Since I’m hoping to talk to as many people as possible, I figured it would be helpful if people knew not only where I’d be, but WHEN!  Hence the attached PDF with my specific flight information .  Please let me know if you have any questions, if you see enough space/time for me to squeeze in another destination, or if you would like to get together and talk at some point during my trip!

All About Mom

I was thinking about my trip today and discussing it with some of the guys here at the fire station (I’m in the middle of our 48 hour weekend shift – it’s been an interesting weekend so far!) and I realized that it’s been 9 1/2 years since my mom passed away from brain cancer.

Many of you who are reading this blog didn’t know me 9 1/2 years ago, and therefore were never lucky enough to meet my mom.  Since she is the inspiration behind this entire trip I figured that it would be a good idea to tell you guys a little bit about her.
