T-Minus 4 Days Until Departure!

Today was another awe inspiring day!  Before I tell you why in the video I need to tell you about 1 of the ‘rules’ that I have for this trip.  There are no limits.  By that I mean that ANYTHING is possible on this trip.  There is no limit on how many people we can all talk to, how many people we can reach, or how many opportunities may pop up that help us spread the word about this amazing cause!

I have, in the past, limited myself.  I’ve come to realize that I do that because I’m scared of falling short and of failing.  As a result I set caps for myself.  I realized a week or so ago just how debilitating that can be for anyone, so I told myself that on this trip I would do my best to NOT do that.  To date I haven’t done that and, to date, not a day has gone by that I’m more amazed than I was the day before.  Here’s the video & don’t forget to take the poll that’s posted under the video!

Sheila’s Courage

I received a phone call today from someone who had seen the 29 Days Until 29 story and wanted to talk to me about it.  As the conversation was winding down I asked the question that is the focal point of my journey; what is your cancer connection?  The story that was told to me in the minute or 2 after I asked that question simply blew me away.

Frankie and Sheila were long-time friends.  Sheila was married, had two beautiful daughters, and was living happily ever after until she was diagnosed with leukemia.  Sheila battled the disease with everything she had, but ended up loosing the fight.  Sheila’s two daughters lost their mom way too soon.

Writers Needed!

Everyone has been great about spreading the word about 29 Days Until 29.  Over the past few days I have received some of the most amazing, heartfelt emails that I’ve ever read and had some amazing conversations.  A few have been from/with good friends of mine, others have been from people that I’ve never met before, but they all illustrate the fact that we can replace the negative connections that we all share because of cancer with positive ones. Only A ‘Work Week’ Away!

6 Days Until Departure

7 Days Until Departure

The last few days have been a non-stop adventure and I haven’t even gotten on a plane yet!  I wanted to give everyone a quick update on what was going on, so I created the below video.  It was shot on a Kodak Play Sport camera that the folks over at Crutchfield were kind enough to give me to use on my trip.  The lighting isn’t great in my office, but the quality is awesome!  I hope that you enjoy the update and thanks again for your support!
