SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) – 29 cities in 29 days. That’s the plan for one man from Virginia. An “all you can jet” pass from Jet Blue takes him across the country, sharing his message to fight cancer. He stopped in Salt Lake City Thursday.
Five Utah women waited at the Salt Lake International Airport Thursday morning. They waited for a man, they had never met – until today. Geri Boyle was one of the women. She explained why they are there, “We were following Drew on Twitter and we found out he was here.” Drew Lawrence is on a mission to raise awareness to fight cancer. A message Geri, her daughter and friends share. Geri said, “I lost a dad to cancer, I still really miss him, I lost a stepson January 21st and my husband has been diagnosed with melanoma and cancer sucks.” This is the 10th day of his cross country journey. He has documented it all via twitter, Facebook and blogs. Lawrence said, “I write about it to help other people who view the website know, they are not alone.” One month of traveling bringing strangers together to keep up the fight, against cancer.
